Roofing work was carried out at my property in May 2025. The cost increased from around £2,500 to £5,000 after I was advised the roof felt needed replacing. After completion, the site wasn’t left clean – there was cement residue on the windows and down the side of the house, screed left on the chimneys, and empty bottles and takeaway packaging left in the garden. The quote also included three slate vents, but these were not installed. Within six months, some slates and cement from the repairs have come loose. I’ve tried contacting the company about these issues but haven’t had a response.

Living in the UK, you expect a roofer to understand rain, but this company failed to calculate the correct headlap for my roof’s pitch. Instead of overlapping the slates sufficiently to keep water out during wind-driven rain, they left them too short. Now, every time there is a storm, I’m worried about water ingress.

The installation looked okay from the street, but they completely ignored roof ventilation. By blocking the airflow and failing to install the necessary ridge or eaves vents, they’ve created a greenhouse for condensation. I’m already seeing moisture buildup in my rafters. They might know how to lay a tile, but they clearly don't understand the technicalities of breathable roof construction.
