Privacy policy

Compare My Roofer privacy policy This policy covers comparemyroofer.co.uk, which lists roofing contractors, guttering & fascia specialists and chimney sweeps around the UK, along with the reviews their past customers have left.

Who can I contact about my data? Any privacy enquiry can be sent to [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can.

What information do you collect? We don't collect personal information directly from visitors browsing the site, and there's no need to register an account. Standard technical data is nonetheless received automatically from your browser on every visit - your IP address, browser type and the pages requested - and recorded in our server logs, which we use to keep the service running reliably and securely.

Where do the roofer listings come from? Roofing contractors, guttering specialists and chimney sweeps appear on this site because their details, and any associated reviews, were sourced from publicly available Google Maps listings, which we periodically refresh. A tradesperson who wants their entry corrected or removed can contact us by email at any time, and we deal with such requests quickly.

Do you use cookies or advertising? Cookies may be set on this site to analyse usage and to display adverts. Advertising partners, including Google, may use these cookies to serve ads based on your interests, drawing on your browsing activity across sites. You can adjust or opt out of this kind of personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com, and your browser lets you block or clear cookies too.

What are my rights? The UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 give you the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your personal data, and to object to how it is processed; an email to the address above is all that's required. You are also entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent regulator, at ico.org.uk if you're not satisfied with our response.

Does this site link elsewhere? Yes - pages link to the websites of listed roofers and to Google Maps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites once you have left ours.
