Hants Chimney Sweep Services

Hants Chimney Sweep Services is a chimney sweep business based in Southampton. It describes itself as a local chimney sweeper and offers chimney sweeping services. The business is trained to diagnose and repair hazards and to carry out maintenance including the removal of flammable creosote, firebox and damper repair, and smoke chamber repair. It also offers more complicated repairs such as flue repair and relining, and chimney pot replacement.

Most sweeps are performed from the bottom of the chimney rather than the top to prevent the dispersion of dust and debris and because it is safer for the chimney sweep. Inspection may be conducted from the bottom or top, or both if accessible. The business uses the standard chimney brush along with more modern tools such as vacuums, cameras and special chimney cleaning tools.

Artur, the sweep behind Hants Chimney Sweep Services, is named in review after review, and Southampton householders describe him as courteous, dependable and professional. Punctuality comes up often: he arrives when expected and carries out annual chimney sweeps without fuss. Tidiness is a recurring point, with hearths, surrounds and the areas around wood burners left free of soot and looking polished once the brush has been put away. Photographs of the flue taken before and after cleaning are mentioned by several customers, who find the record helpful.

Advice is another strong thread, covering how to get more from a wood burner, cut energy use, keep pace with regulatory changes and position a carbon monoxide alarm, with paperwork kept for insurance purposes. Communication from the first enquiry through to the visit is praised as clear and attentive. Warmth towards householders and their dogs is noted, log delivery is mentioned alongside sweeping, and a number of clients have returned year after year. Care over fine detail, from the fire surround to the flue, is what reviewers return to.
