Seán Boyle and Son Chimney Sweep

Seán Boyle and Son is a chimney sweep business based in Bristol. The business is named after Seán Boyle, the founder's father, who was born in 1937 in rural Ireland, and the current operator learned chimney sweeping from him. Some of the founder's old chimney sweeping rods remain in use. The business is fully insured for all services provided and serves customers in Bristol and beyond.

Chimneys are swept either manually or with a power assisted rotary kit; the area to be swept is covered to avoid escaping soot, a vacuum is used, and the fireplace opening is sealed. A standard sweep takes on average close to an hour. The business also offers landscaping and garden services, and a wedding sweep service.

Households across Bristol and the surrounding area have relied on this chimney sweep for both routine sweeping and wider property work, with Matt named repeatedly as the person who carries out the jobs. Reviews describe chimney sweeping, flue cleaning, fireplace fitting and decorative fireplace installation, alongside roof work such as fitting bird cowls. Several customers mention the advice given on parts needing replacement and the time taken to explain maintenance and signs to watch for, particularly appreciated by those new to wood burners.

Something that features in review after review is how clean the work is left, with floors and surrounding areas tidied and rubbish removed. Beyond chimneys, reviewers often mention handyman tasks, loft clearance, external painting and garden projects including decking removal, returfing and patio and flower bed construction. Punctuality, a strong work ethic and clear communication are recurring themes, as is pricing described as fair and reasonable. The same name appears again and again as friendly, knowledgeable and willing to return for repeat visits, which is why several accounts mention using the service over multiple years.
