Chimney sweeps · Edinburgh

How much does Chimney sweeps cost in Edinburgh? (2026 price guide)

A standard chimney sweep for an open fire or wood burner typically costs £50-£90 per flue, while properties with multiple chimneys or particularly dirty flues may pay £100-£180 for a full clean. A smoke and CCTV flue inspection, sometimes needed before using a fireplace for the first time, usually adds £50-£100.

Price is influenced mainly by the number of flues being swept, the type of fuel burned (wood-burning stoves and solid fuel fires generally need more thorough cleaning than gas), access to the chimney, and whether a certificate is required for insurance or building purposes. Birds' nest removal or unusually heavy soot build-up can add extra cost.

Choosing a sweep registered with a body such as the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps ensures a valid certificate is issued, which insurers often require.
