Wilkins Chimney Sweep

Wilkins Chimney Sweep was established in 1895 by Tom Wilkins in Newbury. The business has been sweeping chimneys for more than 120 years. It was sold in 1998 to Peter Harris, and in 2011 Peter and his wife Louise franchised the company to expand nationwide. In 2018, Darren Taylor took over the franchise and became Managing Director. Wilkins Chimney Sweep is a franchised business. Andrew McCutcheon is a professional chimney sweep for Solihull and surrounding villages.

He is HETAS-approved, police checked, ICO registered, and fully public liability insured up to £2 million. Andrew uses industry-standard dust-controlled methods and H-class HEPA filtration. He serves homeowners and landlords throughout Solihull and eastwards into the surrounding Warwickshire countryside, including Allesley, Balshall Common, Berkswell, Bickenhill, Catherine-de-Barnes, Chelmsley Wood, Eastcote, Hampton in Arden, Harvest Hill, Marston Green, Meriden, Olton, Solihull, and Whiteacre Heath.

Every sweep includes an official sweeping certificate for home insurance and landlord records. Each sweep is covered by a minimum of £2m public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. Sweeps are trained on interacting with people who have dementia or disabilities, and arrive in a branded uniform and fully liveried van. The company operates to the practices laid out by HETAS. Services include chimney sweeping, cage, cap and cowl fitting, bird nest removal, and CCTV survey in some areas.
