SK Chimney Sweep & Son Ltd

SK Chimney Sweep & Son Ltd is a family-run chimney sweeping business founded in 2015 by Simon Kowalik, known locally as Sam the Sweep. Simon is an APICS chimney sweep with APICS Member No: 123-APICS-16, and the company is approved by both APICS and SFA. In 2025, Sam Junior, also known as Sam Wheeler, joined the business, making it a father-and-son operation.

Sam Junior is an apprentice chimney sweep trained to NACS standards and is also a NACS-qualified chimney sweep. The business uses drone inspections to assess chimney pots and bird cowls, and has worked for the National Trust. Its service area includes Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, and Chesterfield. It provides chimney sweeping and related services for wood-burning stoves, open fires, multi-fuel appliances, and commercial systems.

Chimney sweeping in Halfway draws consistent praise for the standard of work and the manner in which it is carried out, with Sam and Sam junior named time and again in feedback. A handful of customers describe the finish as professional, the surroundings left clean and tidy, and a striking absence of dust or mess afterwards, even when two flues in an older Victorian property were tackled. Reasonable and fair pricing comes up repeatedly, as does clear communication before and after each visit, and reviewers value being accommodated at short notice.

One account notes the sweep being left to work alone and the key returned afterwards, while another points to a full certificate supplied once the job was done. Politeness, a personable approach and evident expertise recur throughout the comments, alongside care taken around the home and a dependable service from the first enquiry through to the final check. Both routine maintenance and one-off cleans attract the same steady approval, and the thoroughness shown on every visit remains the theme that surfaces most often.
