Excellent service and communication. Sorted out our roof leak, quickly and professionally. Highly recommended.

I’m really happy with the service provided by ML Roofing. After my roof was damaged from Storm Amy, I reported the issue late on a Friday evening, and Mark got back to me the same day. The team attended on Monday and quickly resolved all the issues. Excellent, professional service. Recommended and would use again.

We have just had a complete roof renewal. Mark was very good with communication at all stages. The price was good and the team worked hard. It all looks great and would definitely recommend. Great job.

This was a mixed experience—unfortunately, not a great one. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, so I raised my concerns with Mark before posting. I hope this serves as constructive feedback to prevent similar issues for others. *The positives*: - Pricing was reasonable (for a roof—so still ££). - Mark was generally responsive to messages - Mark's team added on an extra job to remove an old water tank and insulation from the loft - The roof appears fine, though no one walked us through the final work *The issues*: - Lack of oversight and communication: Mark assured us he was checking the work, but we never saw him once during the month-long project. He didn’t knock on the door or provide updates either in person, or by text or email. Just payment requests. The overall impression was that he was overstretched, and communication, safety, and organisation suffered as a result. - Serious safety concerns: The site was not left in a safe state. My husband stepped on a nail while taking out the bins in the dark down the only route available at the side of the skip - it went through his shoe and resulted in a puncture wound and an evening on the phone to NHS 111. The wood he stood on had been left on the driveway for days, covered in nails which we hadn't realised were there. We later learned it had been put on the roof and found to be the wrong size. It had then been removed and stored there for reuse - at the cost of our safety. We have two young children, and still no one thought to say anything. Photos attached. - Mess and disruption: The site was strewn with rubble, nails, screws, wood, and insulation for the entire month. - Repeated delays: Our roof was initially scheduled for October. After weeks clearing the loft to get it ready, the date was repeatedly pushed back. Mark cited issues, which we were sympathetic to - until we saw his team working on another roof nearby. Clearly, all work hadn’t stopped, just our job. - Deposit taken, then further delays: In January, we finally got a new date and paid a deposit. Then Storm Eowyn hit. When we asked about its impact on our schedule, we were told (rather curtly) that people who had been affected by the storm took priority. Understandable of course - but by this point, we had waited months, with a large deposit of more than £2600 already paid. - Prolonged work and damage: The job, which we expected to take one or two weeks max, dragged on for a full month, even after all the initial delays. Along the way, our driveway + paving slabs were damaged by the skip and scaffolding (this was subsequently repaired by Mark - but with the wrong cement and possibly the wrong slab - photos attached). Work was done in stops and starts, with long gaps where no one showed up. At one point, the scaffolding was moved to access a different section - only for no further work to happen for days. Mark told us the scaffolders hadn’t informed him. - Final clean-up issues: When we opened the loft hatch when the main roof was done, rubble and dust fell on our heads and all over the floor. Apparently, we should have waited for them to clear it - but no one told us that - we assumed it had already been done as that part of the roof was complete. Throughout the process, there was no clear point of contact, no one managing the site, and no communication about what was happening. I know Mark has a strong local reputation, and he’s a nice guy. But frankly, I’d rather have paid a bit more for better organisation - someone handling admin, proper scheduling, and ensuring the site was safe and customers were kept informed. I hope that our experience was a one-off and no one else is similarly affected, and that these serious safety and communication concerns can be quickly rectified for others. EDIT: I have spoken to Mark again following this review and he has told me he has spoken to the team to improve communication, safety and management of jobs to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Very bad experience. We got in touch with Mark back in early autumn. We got a ridiculous quote of almost £576 for fixing the slates and cleaning the gutters. We asked him to make sure the whole roof would be checked thoroughly so we don't have issues. We also asked him to fit a new window. That was one of the reasons we waited for him for weeks. After being let down many times over, Mark sent his two younger brothers who spent less than an hour on the job. In the correspondence I asked for the moss to be removed but on arrival they said it's better not to touch it as it may loosen the slates. I called Mark and complained that his brothers were there only an hour so it's quite a lot to pay almost £600. He adjusted the price to £264 which was still ridiculously high for an hour job which wasn't even fully completed which we found out later with the first rain. I chased Mark several times to finish the job and fit the window which was meant to be an extra cost and he told me a few times he would call me back. He never did and I stopped chasing him. We got a new roofer, who did a proper job for a fraction of the price but still feel ripped off for being charged £264 for an hour job that wasn't even effective and the slates were still lose and roof leaking. I hate giving bad reviews but looking back, it was such a bad experience and waste of our time, hence a warning to others.

What a pleasure it was to deal with Mark and his team at ML Roofing. I sent him a photo of damage to our roof following the recent storm and received a quote within minutes. His team then attended a few days later and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. Will be more than happy to use him again.

Great service from Mark. Repaired ridge tiles and other roof tiles broken in the high winds. If you are looking for a roofer in and around Killearn I highly recommended ML Roofing .
