Ben's Gutters Brighton

Purely objective review. Contacted them and they asked for photos which I provided then they asked for more details so I sent a video. They messaged to say it shouldn’t be a problem looking at the pics and video but also sent an automated caveat that if it couldn’t be done I’d still be charged. When I question it I was told it was a template message to cover themselves but told again it shouldn’t be a problem. They came to site and couldn’t do the job and charged me. The deduction from future work even I asked was only for work over £300 Message below: “ Yeah, pretty sure we will be able to reach, the above templated message is to cover all basis really, we have always had an attendance fee and that allows for our time if they attempt it and couldn’t reach. But as it says we would deduct that from anything in the future. I’m of course happy to try it’s just upto you if you want to pay the call out fee I guess. sorry I can’t definitively say, but I do think it will work……🤞🏻”

Beware of this business. This is what they call a clean gutter. I emailed them with these photos and the response was - our vacuum can only do so much. I would have expected them to tell me about moss growing on the felt, the fact that they weren't able to remove it within the cost of the existing clean and ideally suggest ways to remove it.

Didn't clean gutters. Hired to do gutters, BN postcode. I was working from home on the agreed date, gave the contractor a tour of the house’s exterior, and said I was available throughout if they needed to flag any access issues. The contractor advised me the work was fully completed. I accepted this in good faith. The next morning however we had some rain, and seeing lots of gutter spillover, I put a camera up to the roof. Here, we discovered that the gutters on most aspects of the house were simply not done - see images time stamped 12 hours after work 'done' That same day I contacted the customer service team via phone and email, their officer - Kitty - reviewed my provided videos and agreed and apologised via email for the gutters “not being clear”. They said the issue would be passed to their 'complaints team' for resolution, but I have now not heard back and they are no longer replying to my contact 1 week later. Be warned, particularly those with mobility or access issues meaning you are unable to monitor and inspect the agreed work.

Great service, easy to book. I really don't fancy climbing tall ladders any more at my age. There was a problem after the latest visit with a TV aerial cable that had been knocked out of place while the gutters were cleared, but when I called about it, someone came next day to sort it out. I'm looking forward to some rain.
