He holds public liability insurance, and a NACS certificate is provided with every sweep. Based in Leeds, the company covers all areas of Leeds, with a focus on North Leeds, including Horsforth, Cookridge, Adel, Bramhope, Rawdon, Apperley Bridge, Yeadon, Guiseley, Menston, Otley, Arthington, East Carlton, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Poole-in-Wharfedale, Huby, North Rigton, Weeton, Chapel Allerton, Shadwell, Thorner, Collingham, Harewood, Alwoodley, Moortown, Meanwood, Headingley, Kirkstall, Roundhay, Rodley, Pudsey, Farsley, and Bramley.

Services offered are chimney sweeping, cowls and birdguards, and capping chimneys. The working method includes wearing shoe covers to respect home interiors, prepping the room before sweeping, sealing the stove prior to sweeping, and a smoke check after sweeping.

Work involving flues, log burners and fireplace surrounds is what customers of Andy Barker Chimney Sweep Ltd in Leeds describe most often. Several reviewers mention that sweeping is carried out thoroughly, with stoves and fireplaces burning more effectively once the job is finished. Punctuality and professionalism come up repeatedly, including jobs such as removing a bird's nest and fitting new chimney cowls on a wet day. Tidiness is a strong recurring theme: after sweeping, capping chimney pots or clearing bricks and rubble from a fireplace, the area is left clean.

Communication is praised, with Natasha named for keeping customers informed by text and Andy for explaining options and giving useful advice at the outset. An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the care taken to check existing installations, and one customer notes that mistakes by a previous stove installer were identified and put right. Reasonable pricing and good value are also described, as is the speed of completion, with some work finished inside an hour. Andy is portrayed as friendly, polite and honest, and the standard of work on bird-proofing and pot capping is a recurring detail.
